Since 2025, TechConnect has combined the Emerging Technologies Student Leaders Conference with the Horizons Workforce Development Program.
The Emerging Technologies Student Leaders Conference brings together undergraduate nano and emerging technologies student group representatives from across the United States. This program highlights undergraduate research and connects students with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, venture capitalists, and representatives of federal agencies that are funding research in emerging technologies. The Emerging Technologies Student Leaders Conference is also an opportunity for students to share best practices on leading student groups for emerging technologies and network with like-minded group leaders.
This year, the Emerging Technologies Student Leaders Conference and the Horizons Workforce and Development Program will raise awareness about diverse career paths associated with emerging technologies, such as nanotechnology, microelectronics, and biotechnology. In its role supporting the National Nanotechnology Initiative, the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office is helping to facilitate the NextTech Student Network. Student leaders in any science, technology, or business domain are welcomed to participate in the 2027 Student Leaders Conference and the Horizons Workforce and Development Program at TechConnect!
