
Samuel
Pasmann, Ph.D. is a Senior Computational Nuclear Scientist at Thea Energy,
where he focuses on neutronics, activation analysis, and blanket design for
advanced stellarator systems. His research interests lie at the intersection of
neutron transport simulations and fusion blanket design. In this role, he
recently led the design of the blanket technical baseline for the
"Helios" Fusion Power Plant. Prior to joining Thea Energy, Sam
earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame,
where his research focused on development of the Iterative Quasi-Monte Carlo
(iQMC) method for neutron transport simulations through the Center for
Exascale Monte Carlo for Neutron Transport (CEMeNT), a PSAAP-III program.
Sam is broadly committed to advancing sustainable nuclear energy and is an
active contributor to several open-source scientific software packages for the
nuclear engineering community.
