
Dr. Mahrokh Dadsetan is a senior R&D leader with deep expertise in biomaterials, polymer science, and the development of medical devices, drug delivery systems, combination products, and regenerative medicine technologies. With more than two decades of experience, she has successfully led programs from concept through commercialization while ensuring alignment with FDA and ISO regulatory standards. She holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Tehran and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biomaterials at Case Western Reserve University. Her scientific contribution includes more than 70 peer reviewed publications, patents, invited presentations, and over 3,800 citations, reflecting her impact on the biomaterials and medical innovation fields. At Evonik’s Medical Competence Center in Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Dadsetan has played a key role in expanding the medical device portfolio, securing strategic investments, and leading global cross functional teams. Dr. Dadsetan was recently named a Research Principal Fellow through the Evonik Fellowship Program, recognizing her significant scientific and organizational contributions. She is widely regarded for her strategic insight, technical depth, and ability to translate complex science into impactful medical technologies. She has driven the creation of novel materials and processes, strengthened the company’s IP position, and supported business growth through technical and strategic advisory roles. Previously, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, she served as Assistant Professor and Co Director of the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Lab, where her research was supported by major institutional and federal grants. She also contributed to ethical research oversight as a member of the Mayo Clinic IACUC.
