Robin Brigmon

Adjunct Professor

Clemson University

Brigmon’s major research interests include biofilm control. hazardous waste management, water and wastewater treatment, and biodegradation/bioremediation of recalcitrant compounds. Dr. Brigmon’s work at the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) focused on the application of environmental microbiology to the development of enhanced methods for managing hazardous waste. Of particular interest are biofilm applications and novel materials for biological treatment processes.

Current studies include the development of models for improved Legionella pneumophila control in cooling towers, bioremediation of recalcitrant organic and inorganic materials, and foamed glass ceramics as a platform for microbial delivery as fixed biofilms.

He also served as a subject matter expert (SME) for Oasis Consulting and Technical Services in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Science and Technology Emergence Panel (STEP), providing technical expertise, conducting market surveys, and supporting the DTRA Research and Development Directorates for advanced chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defense concepts and capabilities.
