Summary:

This talk will cover our journey from inception of the single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) based probe for enzyme activity measurement in our group at Iowa State University, subsequent extension of utility in various use case studies, and finally our current efforts in commercializing this as the Nanoassay™ platform under Zymosense Inc. Use cases include targeted bioprospecting, real-time monitoring of fungal production in a bioreactor, screening engineered mutants for plastic degradation, and in-field spatial profiling of soil enzyme activities. The talk will describe the challenges and successes of bringing an academic derived innovation to a commercial product.
