Summary:

This presentation will explore how Manufacturing USA, a network of 17 manufacturing innovation institutes across the US, is bridging the gap between research and commercialization to accelerate the development and deployment of innovative technologies. The session will highlight key successes of PowerAmerica, one of the Manufacturing USA institutes, in advancing wide bandgap semiconductor technology. Through PowerAmerica, technologists, innovators, academia, national lab, and industry partners have collaborated to optimize materials and chip and power electronics manufacturing processes, resulting in significant improvements in performance and efficiency and wide adoption. The session will discuss the institute's strategies for tech development, commercialization, and supply chain optimization, and provide examples of how these efforts have enabled the transition of innovative technologies from prototype demonstration to high-volume manufacturing. Attendees will gain insights into the opportunities and challenges of scaling innovation through Manufacturing USA and learn how to leverage network resources to accelerate their own technology development and commercialization.
