Summary:

As semiconductor manufacturing returns to the United States, a significant challenge is presented in education and training to meet the growing workforce demands that are intertwined with critical technology research areas in defense applications. This talk will outline an overarching strategy from the Department of War has established and influenced the Microelectronics Commons national network in workforce development initiatives, with a focus on regionally-specific needs, opportunities, successes, and lessons learned from CLAWS, the closest regional hub to TechConnect 2026. This talk will be included as part of a technical session on CLAWS research projects and infrastructure.
