Dr. Maria Fernanda Campa is a Staff Scientist at TJFACT. She provides technical advice on  topics at the intersection of nanotechnology, biotechnology, climate, water, and medicine. She established and led the inaugural National Nanotechnology Challenge, Nano4EARTH, which mobilized the nanotechnology community to accelerate the development, scale-up, and adoption of technologies to protect Earth and its environment. She also leads various education, outreach, and workforce development efforts related to nanotechnology and emerging technologies that reach thousands of students and educators every year. Campa is an interdisciplinary scientist with a passion for protecting environmental and public health through scientific innovation and transdisciplinary collaboration. Campa received her Ph.D. in Energy Science and Engineering under a joint fellowship program between the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory and her B.S. in Engineering Science - Nanomedicine from the University of Virginia.
