Aprille Busch joined The University of Texas at Austin in 2015 after three years with the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Science and Technology Cooperation where she fostered international science and technology relationships with countries in Europe and South America. In her role at UT Austin, Aprille serves as the Executive Director of the National Science Foundation’s Southwest Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program. Aprille also serves as an I-Corps instructor for the NSF’s national programs and SBIR bootcamps, and instructs on the Lean Launchpad methodology internationally for the U.S. Department of State. Additionally, Aprille serves on the SXSW Pitch Competition Advisory Board, and on Board of Directors of the Texas University Network for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TUNIE), which brings together all entrepreneurship and innovation centers across the state of Texas.
Aprille began her career in Washington, D.C. as senior staff in the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. She received her B.A. in Communication from Saint Mary’s College, Indiana, with a Concentration in International Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame, and a J.D. from Tulane University Law School.
