Nurun is a program specialist in the Division of Bioenergy at NIFA. Before joining NIFA, Nurun was an Assistant Professor of practice in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department at North Dakota State University. Her research focused on the sustainable use of agricultural resources for food, chemicals, fuel, biomaterials, and biochemical production.
Nurun received her Bachelor of Science in Botany from Dhaka University, Bangladesh; M.Sc. in Soil Science from the University of Manitoba, Canada; and Ph.D. in Environmental and Conservation Science from North Dakota State University.
