Summary:

The Innovation Network for Fusion Energy (INFUSE) was initiated in 2019 in order to accelerate research to develop fusion energy innovation in the private sector. Private companies apply for partnership awards to assist applicants seeking access to the world-class unique expertise and capabilities available across U.S. DOE national laboratories and accredited universities. INFUSE accepts applications that focus on applied research and development and activities supporting the eventual commercialization of fusion energy in the following topic areas: • Enabling technologies • Materials • Diagnostics • Modeling and simulation • Unique fusion experimental capabilities • Activities to support eventual fusion commercialization The presentation will review previous awards relevant to materials innovations, describe national lab capabilities, and give perspectives on future developments.
