Summary:

Heteroaryl glycosyl sulfones are a class of potent glycosyl donors and precursors for carbohydrate synthesis. Their redox activity enables them to be readily activated using organic molecules without the need for extreme conditions, metal-containing promoters or catalysts, therefore offering a more accessible and sustainable resource that avoids generating hazardous metallic by-products.
