Summary:

According to sources, including Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, more energy is being wasted in the US and around the world than is being consumed. There are opportunities for recovering energy that are not being utilized today. We will provide a case study for energy recovery at a (theoretical) power plant which outlines the potential for recovering, moving and re-using energy, enabling significant savings in equipment costs and fuel, with a positive environmental impact. What would industrial plants look like if recovery of energy currently being wasted became mainstream? What if the “greening” of industry was financially lucrative for asset owners?
