Summary:

A non-volatile memory circuit that has one or more of the following features was created and patented : (a) a logic source, and (b) a semi-conductive device being electrically coupled to the logic source, having a first terminal, a second terminal, and a nano-grease with a significantly reduced amount of carbon nanotube loading located between the first and second terminal, wherein the nano-grease exhibits non-volatile memory characteristics. The results indicate a robust memristor material for next-generation computing systems, including artificial intelligence and machine learning. Existing memristors are low power (< 0.1 Watts) and sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Our novel nano memristor can withstand high power (> 4 Watts) inputs and is not sensitive to ESD. The novel nano memristor takes advantage of a 3D matrix structure consisting of well dispersed carbon nanotubes in an appropriate base oil. There are several advantages of the memristor memory over conventional transistor-based memories. One is its strikingly small size. Though memristor is still at its early development stage, its size is at most one tenth of its random access memory (RAM) counterparts. If the fabrication technology for the memristor is improved, the size advantage could be even more significant. Another feature of the memristor is its incomparable potential to store analog information, which enables the memristor to keep multiple bits of information in a memory cell. Besides these features, the memristor is also an ideal device for implementing synaptic weights in artificial neural networks. Novum Nano works with leaders in the carbon nanomaterials research field. The team has extensive nanomaterials experience in energy storage, oil additives, greases, memristors, and various electrically and/or thermally conductive coatings. Novum Nano can manufacture and/or license the system commercially, make connections, and transition the technology nationally, while SDM will co-develop the solution, provide testing and analytical capabilities. Memristors of interest have a dynamic function with memory and may be described as some function of the net charge. There is no such thing as a standard memristor. Instead, each device implements a function wherein the integral of voltage determines the integral of current and vice versa. A linear time–invariant memristor, with a constant value for M, is simply a conventional resistor. The memristor market is growing rapidly. According to https://www.mordorintelligence.com/industry-reports/memristor-market, the “memristors market was valued at USD 2432.68 million in 2020 and is expected to reach USD 37431.22 million by 2026 to register a CAGR of 52.7% during the forecast period 2021-2026. Memristors find applications in non-volatile memory solutions, low power, and remote sensing applications. They are expected to replace transistors that are currently used with much smaller solid-state memristors.” This project could lead to a novel method of nano memory device commercial uses and revenues across wide-spread sectors of industrial and commercial applications.
