Farshid Mostowfi is a Scientific Advisor and Research Director at Schlumberger – Doll Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Mostowfi’s primary interests are in development and commercialization of microfluidic technologies for characterization of reservoir fluids in oil and gas industry. He has been the inventor of over 50 patents and patent applications, co-author of 40 journal publications, a book chapter, and an ASTM standard. His work on microfluidic measurement of asphaltenes in crude oil is the first commercialized application of microfluidics in oil and gas industry. He has served on the advisory board of Institute of Sustainable Energy at Boston University, a research associate at Harvard, and an adjunct professor of engineering at University of Alberta, in Canada.
