Summary:
Single solid-state quantum emitters are a promising resource for quantum photonics, with good potential for the scalable creation of triggered, high-brightness single-photon sources, spin-photon interfaces and single-photon nonlinear elements. Efficient optical interfaces to single emitters are an essential ingredient for achieving such capabilities, however are highly challenging to create. This talk will cover the most relevant challenges common to general quantum emitter material systems, and discuss techniques that are being developed towards overcoming them.
