Summary:

An Arrhenius equation may be used to predict lithium-ion capacitor cycle life degradation. Earlier researchers determined that lithium-ion capacitor (LIC) cycle life degradation can be modeled by an Arrhenius equation relying upon ambient temperature. This study performed cycle life testing at a constant temperature but varied cycle current. The result could be consistently described by an Arrhenius equation. The Butler-Volmer equation anticipates these results as it predicts direct proportionality between a LIC’s cycle current and temperature.
