Black and superwicking metal surface for interfacial solar-thermal water sanitation

An innovative super-solar-absorber and super-wicking surface will be presented for interfacial solar water purification. One meter square surface of the developed material has capability to clean water with a rate of 2.8 to 3.2 liter per, and can remove all types of contaminates from water to make it drinkable. We demonstrated solar water removal of contaminates from industrial, agricultural, and domestic effluxes alongwith desalination of sea water and removal of heavy metal ions.
