Dr. Chi Chen is a postdoctoral researcher in the Materials Virtual Lab led by Prof. Shyue Ping Ong at University of California San Diego. He is focusing on developing machine learning and especially deep learning models for materials. His research areas include force field developments, predicting structure-property relationships using graph networks, and neural networks applied to x-ray absorption spectroscopy. He received his PhD from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he worked on data mining of ion transports in solid electrolytes, molecular dynamics simulations of solid oxide fuel cell materials, and statistical analysis and modeling of electrochemical experiments.
