Bahman Habibzadeh is a Technology Manager in the Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office (BTO). He is currently on detail with the Fuel Cell Technologies Office.

Prior to joining the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Office of the DOE, Dr. Habibzadeh worked as a research and development engineer at Ballard Power Systems where he performed design and testing on fuel reformers for PEM Fuel Cell generator; and Volvo Powertrain North America where he worked on efficiency improvement, waste heat recovery and after-treatment systems for diesel engines. He has over 15 years of experience in different energy related industries including renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar energy, residential and commercial HVAC systems and conventional power plants.

Dr. Habibzadeh received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2007, focusing on direct oxidation of CO on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC’s) anodes, and his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 2002, focusing on passive control of spray combustion, both from University of Maryland. He received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
