Micro-, and bio-fluidics are highly interdisciplinary fields that involve the study and control of transport processes and related physical and chemical phenomena, typically across multiple length and time scales and also within the human body and biological tissue down to the subcellular level. These fields are advancing rapidly and applications are proliferating, especially in the life sciences and biotechnology. The applications of these fields are broad and encompass a diverse range of areas that include Micro Total Analysis Systems, Lab-on-a-Chip technology, drug discovery and delivery, cardiovascular function, point-of-care clinical diagnostics, methods for computational fluid dynamics, nanofluids and many others. The aim of this symposium is to provide a forum to discuss fundamental phenomena and advances in these fields, associated technologies and current and emerging commercial applications.applications.
