Duke University

Nick Geitner is currently a Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for the Environmental Implications of NanoTechnology at Duke University. He obtained his PhD from Clemson University in Nano Biophysics in 2014, where he worked on nano-enabled oil spill remediation. His work at Duke spans multiple fields and focuses on the behavior of nanomaterials in environmental systems across scales ranging from in silico single particle interactions, to laboratory development of functional assays to predict nanoparticle transport, to the fate and transport of nanomaterials in simulated wetland mesocosms. His primary focus is on developing a multiscale, functional understanding of how the fundamental properties of a nanomaterial may be translated into useful predictions of their fate, transport, and environmental impact.
