Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis using Spontaneously Activatable Catalysts

TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

A catalytic process for production of synthetic liquid fuels and/or high value-added chemicals from coal, natural/shale gas, or biomass via syngas (H2 + CO) using unique iron-based catalysts with no necessity for an extra pre-activation treatment

Primary Application Area: Materials, Chemical

Technology Development Status: Proven Manufacturability

FIGURES OF MERIT

Value Proposition: KIER’s FTS process can selectively produce premium liquid fuels and/or high value-added chemicals from coal, natural/shale gas, or biomass via syngas. Unlike conventional FTS processes, KIER’s FTS process requires no catalyst pre-activation treatment. Therefore, KIER’s FTS process is much more efficient and can make new profits in the business side. Especially, BTL(biomass to liquids) market would be very optimistic in North America, it will be the new business field for engineering companies.
