Small Satellite Chemical Propulsion System

TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

GreenScale Technologies is developing a chemical micropropulsion system that will provide SmallSats/CubeSats with a high-performance, low-cost option for increasing the value of existing mission architectures, or enabling new mission concepts.

Value Proposition: The key value adds of this propulsion system are the low acquisition cost and high performance when compared with current state-of-the-art. For small satellites, the launch costs are often a significant fraction of the total cost of a mission. A propulsion system can dramatically increase the operational life-time of a satellite (for example, from several months up to several years for a typical small satellite), which increases the value of each satellite launched. Since our propulsion system is inexpensive to purchase, the payoff occurs quickly.

Furthermore, propulsion allows new mission designs (formation flying, re-configurable constellations) that aren't even possible now. Current state-of-the-art would be cost-prohibitive for many organizations, but our low-cost system will be a natural fight for these types of missions.
