Dr. Cola is on leave from his role as associate professor of mechanical engineering and materials science at Georgia Tech, where he mentored 100s of students and lead teams to raise over $10 million to support his internationally renowned research program in energy and thermal management nanomaterials (nest.gatech.edu).
Dr. Cola has published over 80 publications/patents and 100 invited talks on nanotechnology and thermal management, and, in 2012, received from the White House the highest recognition awarded to scientists and engineers early in their careers for his outstanding work in nanotechnology, energy, and public engagement with science. He co-founded the Academic and Research Leadership Network (www.arlnetwork.org), which is the leading professional development network for minority Ph.D. engineering researchers, and serves on the Board of Vanderbilt University Department of Mechanical Engineering. He was recently honored as a 2015 40 under 40 selection by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
