Summary:

The Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST), part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is the Department of Commerce’s nanotechnology user facility. The CNST enables innovation by providing users from industry, academia, NIST and other government agencies with access to the tools and processes needed to make and measure nanostructures. This is accomplished through a unique two-part hybrid design. The NanoFab provides rapid problem solving through access to a commercial state-of-the-art tool set and expert advice, while the NanoLab enables users to collaborate with CNST researchers developing next-generation measurement and fabrication methods to meet the nation’s nanotechnology needs. In this talk I will discuss the NanoFab capabilities and highlight some of the research currently underway in the NanoLab.
