Keywords: nanotechnology standardization, graphene

Summary:

This presentation will include an introduction to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and ANSI’s roles with regards to Nanotechnology Standardization: The ANSI-Nanotechnology Standards Panel (ANSI-NSP) and Administrator of the ANSI-Accredited U.S. TAG to International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) Technical Committee (TC) 229 Nanotechnologies. Both the ANSI-NSP and ISO/TC 229 have identified graphene as a priority area in terms of standardization. The ANSI-NSP will hold a meeting focused on the standards needs of the graphene community; the proposed outputs from this meeting will be identified during the TechConnect presentation. ISO/TC 229 has begun development of standards relative to graphene and 2d materials in the areas of terminology and measurement and characterization. An overview of specific documents underway will be provided.
