Value Proposition: This suite of technologies provides a means by which a common and inexpensive feedstock (glucose) can be converted into multiple high volume chemical intermediates. Process steps have been selected for low-cost operation, including using inexpensive catalysts and involving minimal purification of intermediate products. This combination of abundant feedstock, low cost processing steps, and product flexibility provides an opportunity to cost-effectively produce both commodity chemicals and value-added materials by a sustainable, biorenewable process.
