Assistant Director, Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Business OregonHeather Stafford is the Assistant Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) at Business Oregon. Her I&E team manages the Oregon Innovation Council, the Oregon Growth Board, a variety of state programs and R&D partnerships to build a more vibrant statewide ecosystem to support innovation, entrepreneurship and access to capital. The Business Oregon I&E team work to stay at the forefront of technology based economic development (TBED). Oregon’s economy is the 2nd most reliant on manufacturing in the nation. Oregon is pioneering innovations in additive manufacturing, nano and microtechnologies, digital health and biomedical devices, Internet of Things (IoT) living laboratories and agricultural technologies (AgTech). Since the late 90s, Heather produced fortune 500 digital media campaigns during the dotcom Bay Area boom, designed and built Oregon’s statewide market research capabilities with the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network, and ran an SBA awarded rural, high tech business accelerator. She brings a diversity of experience and a realistic, grounded approach to leading Oregon’s economic development mission to Grow Our Own.
