Amanda Chatten

Imperial College London

United Kingdom

Dr Amanda Chatten is a Lecturer in the Department of Physics. She studied for both her BSc, for which she was awarded the University of London Neil Arnott Prize for Chemistry 1992, and her PhD in the Department of Chemistry at University College London. Following her PhD Amanda carried out postdoctoral research on a novel approach to the intensive structuring of surfactant systems and the effects of heat and mass transfer in two-phase multi-component flowing systems. Between 2000 and 2007 she carried out further postdoctoral research in the Department of Physics at Imperial working in Prof Barnham’s and Prof Nelson’s groups developing characterization techniques and models for the luminescent solar concentrator as well as developing models of charge transport in binary blends for organic solar cells. Amanda took up a lectureship in the Experimental Solid State group in 2008 and has published over 30 papers on solar photovoltaics in refereed journals and proceedings.
