Douglas Lee



Douglas Lee has been CEO of OrthoMEMS and its subsidiary, AcuMEMS, since its inception in 2004. Previously, Mr. Lee was CEO of The Dr. Spock Company, a venture-backed company in children’s health from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, Mr. Lee was Managing Director of Premier Medical Partner Fund LP, a healthcare venture capital fund sponsored by Premier, Inc. (the leading U.S. hospital group purchasing organization) from 1997 to 2001. Before Premier, he was CFO and Vice President of the new ventures and corporate business development group at Guidant Corporation (NYSE: GDT) from 1995 to 1997. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lee was an investment banker at Montgomery Securities, Goldman Sachs and Kemper Securities. Mr. Lee has served as a board member or observer of several venture-backed medical technology companies that successfully exited for a combined market value of over $600 million, including Atrionix (sold to Johnson & Johnson), Durect Corporation (NASDAQ: DRRX), and Endotex Interventional Systems (acquired by Boston Scientific). Mr. Lee earned a B.S. in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987 and an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1991.
