Dr. Nitin Shukla is a Senior Technical Staff in the Building Enclosures and Materials Group at Fraunhofer CSE, Boston. His research is focused on the development of energy efficient and sustainable building materials. Nitin received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2009. His dissertation title was on "Heat Transport across Dissimilar Materials". After completing his Ph.D., he did a postdoc at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with focus on nanoscale heat transfer and energy conversion devices. Nitin joined Fraunhofer in 2011, where he has been overseeing material characterization and material development activities of several emerging buildings technologies such as high performance thermal insulations, phase change materials, and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). Nitin has authored or coauthored over thirty-five journal and technical articles, and has published a book chapter on advanced functional materials.
