Value Proposition: OPUS 12’s ECO2R device could bolt onto any existing source of industrial CO2 emissions, and could convert those emissions into valuable fuels and chemicals that would not only reduce the emitter’s carbon footprint, but also provide a new profit stream from what is currently discarded as a waste product. Our initial target market, existing fuel producers (e.g., oil refineries, corn ethanol plants) emit 100Mt of concentrated process CO2 each year. By discarding this CO2, they are leaving $40 billion in potential value on the table, while exposing themselves to future regulatory risk.
Our technology also offers unique business model opportunities that address the pain points of several players at once. For example, a cement plant may wish to reduce CO2 emissions, an offtaker like Coca Cola may need renewable fuels for their fleet, and solar/wind power producers are looking to monetize excess electricity generation. We can integrate across these needs with a single CO2 conversion facility. We have validated these value propositions in the course of over 200 customer interviews in the last few months.
