Vuk Uskoković is Director of Advanced Materials and Nanobiotechnology Laboratory and Assistant Professor in Department of Bioengineering at University of Illinois at Chicago. His primary research interests include nanostructured biomaterials for controlled drug delivery and tissue engineering applications. Bringing the gap between materials science and life science, his lab specializes in synthesis, characterization and biological testing of materials for the next generation of bionic implants. His main goal at the moment is the design and fabrication of smart, theranostic platforms for finely localized and targeted, in situ remediation of various medical conditions, ranging from bone infection to brain tumors.
