Roger D. England is Director of Materials Science and Technology for Cummins, Inc. where he leads intellectual property, metallurgical engineering, organic chemistry, polymer engineering, dimensional metrology and advanced manufacturing technology. He is currently a Visiting Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and has previously served as Worldwide Technical Quality Champion, Chief Engineer for Marine High Speed Diesel Engines, Marine Product Safety Leader, and Catalyst Technical Program Leader. Roger is a certified Six Sigma Black belt with over $10M US in annualized savings, and holds ten US patents. He has served as an Associate Professor for both Purdue University and Ivy State Technical College. He completed his Doctor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Florida State in 2014; holds a Master of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Currently Roger is on the Steering Committee for Neutron Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; an advisor to the Center for Materials Processing at the University of Tennessee; a member of the Advisory Committee of the Mechanical Engineering Tribology Laboratory at Purdue; a member of the Mechanical Engineering Advisory Council at Florida State; on the Steering Committee of the Thermal Spray Consortium at Sunny Brook; and advisor to the Low Energy Neutron Source at Indiana University. Roger was conferred Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Fellow Award seven consecutive years, has served as Chair of the Indiana Section of SAE, and has been a SAE International Sections Board Member, a Judging Board Member for the Louis Schwitzer Engineering Award at the Indianapolis 500 and a two time Professional Wrestling Champion.
