Chris McNeal is a 2015 Presidential Management Fellow at the Small Business Administration (SBA). Chris currently works for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs with the Office of Investment and Innovation. SBA acts as the coordinating agency for the SBIR/STTR programs. It directs the agencies' implementation of these programs, reviews their progress, and reports annually to Congress on its operation. Chris supports outreach efforts for SBIR/STTR events and the reauthorization efforts for those programs. Prior to joining the Office of Investment and Innovation, Chris worked for the SBA’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer as a Performance Analyst with the Office of Performance Management. Chris served as a performance liaison for four offices within the agency and developed a new performance index to better assess and compare performance throughout the agency.
Chris has a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s in Public Administration with concentrations in State & Local Administration and Public Management from American University.
