Tom Gillespie is a Partner on the Investment Team at In-Q-Tel, the strategic investment firm affiliated with the U.S. Intelligence Community. He is responsible for identifying investment opportunities in companies and technologies that address challenges faced by the Intelligence Community. Areas of investment focus include software analytics, energy/power sources, novel materials, robotics, and space-related capabilities.
Prior to joining In-Q-Tel, Tom was a strategy consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, serving clients in the telecommunications, financial services, and government (national security and defense) sectors. Previously, he co-founded LaunchFuel, a venture commercialization firm that created, developed, and advised early-stage technology businesses. Tom directed numerous business and technology strategy projects with Global 2000 clients for AT&T Solutions, and he led project teams at Silicon Valley Global Trading advising growth technology companies on strategies for entering international markets. His experience also includes positions in international privatization and the United States Congress. Tom earned a B.A. from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
