Bruce Forsyth is a Research Fellow with the Boston Scientific Corporation and has worked collaboratively across divisions such as Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Interventions, Endoscopy and Interventional Oncology for the past 12 years. He is considered a subject-matter expert in drug and hydrophilic coating processes, plasma treatment, biodegradable materials and sterilization. His technical research has included interfacial adhesion, micro-droplet charging, jetting and deposition as well as thin-film drying and coating morphology control. He has recently led a Biodesign initiative with the Mayo Clinic highlighting new areas of diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities in the treatment of lung cancer. Bruce completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and previously worked at 3M-Medical in the Inhalation Drug Delivery division. He was former president of the Boston Scientific Technical Advisory Council, the Particle Society of Minnesota and was recently inducted as industrial fellow to the University of Minnesota?s Institute of Engineering in Medicine (IEM).
