Synthesis of bimetallic catalysts supported on carbon nanotubes for fuel cell application

Summary:

Reduce greenhouse gases emissions is a real challenge of the 21st century. In this work, catalysts for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell have been prepared. Different kind of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been synthesized and fully characterized through common techniques (TGA, XPS, TEM, HRTEM, Raman). Pt/Co and Pt/Ni bimetallic nanoparticles have been supported on these CNTs to obtain catalysts for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction. The electrochemical characterization (RRDE and half-cell experiments) have shown that these catalysts have excellent activity and resistance compare to commercial reference.
