Functionalized Pd Nanoparticles Using Calix[4]Pyrrole:Catalytic Agent for Mizoroki Heck Reaction

In this overview, an approach to synthesize calixpyrrole functionalized palladium nanoparticles employed for catalytic reaction is reported. The palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) were synthesized using calixpyrrole tetrahydrazide system (CPTH) as a reducing as well as stabilizing agent. CPTH-PdNPs have been characterized and studied by UV-Vis, TEM (Transmission electron microscopy), EDX (Energy dispersive X-ray studies), powder XRD (Powder X ray diffraction) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) zeta potential techniques. CPTH-PdNPs are water dispersible and show excellent catalytic activity in cross-coupling Heck reactions of olefinic compounds with aryl iodides and aryl bromides giving good yields within short reaction times. A good degree of recyclability giving five consecutive catalytic tests is shown by the synthesized PdNPs.
