Measurement of O-phthalaldehyde (OPA) by High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with Post Column Derivatization
A simple, inexpensive, NIST traceable process. OPA quantitated in water-based liquids using high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) method combined with post-column derivatization. Does not require hazardous chemicals nor has a hazardous waste stream to discard. Developed for International Space Station to replace a proprietary process made unavailable to NASA.
Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy
Zenalux has developed a patent-protected, photonic system that quickly and non-destructively measures important biomarkers including hemoglobin concentration, hemoglobin saturation and scattering (a measure of cell density and necrosis). The technique can be applied more widely to any turbid media beyond biological systems.
