Refuelable carbon/air battery for off-grid power
The modular carbon/air power cell uses replaceable anodes of elemental carbon; a molten electrolyte (725 Â°C); cathodes and separators adapted from MCFC technology; and novel ceramics, to deliver 5.1 VDC at >100 W continuously for 4 months to power domestic electronics, lighting and appliances for off-grid consumers.
