Conical, Floating Piston Isolation Valve

TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

Inside this valve, a hollow, moveable, balanced, floating piston presses against a stationary solid seat, using the working fluid or an external pressure source to seal it. Seats with the same amount of force with metal-to-metal or soft seats. No large conventional valve actuator or valve stem.

FIGURES OF MERIT

Value Proposition: Commercialize this technology through partner licensing to provide benefits to the marketplace. This design is a large improvement over current valve design: simple, cost effective and eliminates the valve stem and actuator, great for tight spaces. With additional development, it would find its market niche.
