This program will establish a germplasm collection of Agave at Universidad AutÃ³noma del Estado de MÃ©xico (UAEM). UAEM has developed a somatic embryogenesis platform for wild isolates of Agave angustifolia Haw collected in deserts around Zumpahuacan, Mexico. UNT researchers are developing transformation system and are conducting next generation sequencing.
