Lightweight power cartridge

Cella Energy, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

Cella are developing a lightweight power source which has three times the energy per kilogram of a lithium polymer battery. It is based on a solid state hydrogen storage coupled with a fuel cell. The hydrogen supply is stable at room temperature and has no moving parts or liquids.

Primary Application Area: Energy & Efficiency

Technology Development Status: Prototype

Technology Readiness Level: TRL 4

FIGURES OF MERIT

Value Proposition: We can made a system to supply power that is:
1) one third of the weight of a lithium polymer battery
2) simple robust with no moving parts
3) quiet and clean at the point of use
4) stable indefinitely at temperatures below 50C
5) low cost at high volumes
