Nano Ebers: Effective Honey Chitosan Nanofiber Antimicrobial Wound Dressing

TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

“Nano Ebers” wound dressing are electrospun nanofibers made from unusually high concentrations of honey (>50%) and chitosan. Nano Ebers, which can be further optimized to contain additional natural antimicrobials and wound healing materials, exhibit favorable higher antimicrobial and wound healing properties compared to commercial dressings.

Value Proposition: “Nano Ebers” are the first nanofiber based wound dressing to contain very high honey concentration. Compared to current products, “Nano Ebers” dressings have enhanced antimicrobial and exudate management effects with no or minimal side effects at an estimated one half of the cost of current advanced wound dressings.
