Promethia’s nano-enhanced gels are a new responsive materials offering better resolution and reinforcement to prevent tearing. Our advanced gel is embedded with benign nanoparticles which can be positioned by an external field, allowing the researcher to tune gel pore shapes critical to separation. Tougher gels, better resolution.

GOVT/EXTERNAL FUNDING SOURCES

Government Funding/Support to Date: The technology was developed with TN State funding on the Tennessee Technological University campus. The student was funded through a diversity scholarship through the Office of Research. Supplies and travel support was provided through the Center for Manufacturing Research.

The startup for Promethia has been mentored by programs including the Biz Foundry (Jeff Brown) in Cookeville, TN, Launch Tennessee (Jim Stefansic), NSF Pathways to Innovation Program, and by personal funding.
