High resolution spectroscopy on smart phones: a new way to monitor health
Atoptix, LLC., Pennsylvania, United States
Atoptix, LLC is developing the first smart-phone integrated health sensor based on patent pending optical spectroscopy technology that provides individuals the ability to track and monitor their health and wellness, by non-invasively and accurately measuring the levels of vital components in their skin.
Primary Application Area: Medical Devices
Technology Development Status: Prototype
Technology Readiness Level: TRL 4
FIGURES OF MERIT
Value Proposition: Our technology replaces multiple discrete components in a costly traditional spectrometer with a single element, and can thus turn smart phones into high-resolution yet affordable optical spectrometers. Our sensor quantitatively measures hemoglobin, oxygen, melanin, and other tissue vitals to monitor health, which are unattainable in subjective visual or imaging approaches.
