TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

High imaging speed is greatly desired for optical coherence tomography (OCT). We developed a space-division multiplexing OCT (SDM-OCT) technology that can achieve over an order of magnitude speed improvement using commercially available components. SDM-OCT preserves image resolution and sensitivity, and allows synchronized cross-sectional and three-dimensional (3D) imaging of biological samples.
