DR. SUBIR BHATTACHARJEE is former university professor in mechanical engineering and holder of an NRC Industrial Chair in Water Quality Management for Oil Sands at University of Alberta, Canada. Dr. Bhattacharjee has completed numerous projects funded by the Canadian Federal Government agencies, such as, NSERC Canada, Canada Foundation for Innovation, National Research Council, and Alberta Government agencies, such as Alberta Ingenuity, Alberta Innovates, NanoAlberta, Alberta Research Council, etc. He has undertaken R&D and consulting jobs with several industries related to industrial water treatment with several companies, including Suncor Energy, ConocoPhillips Canada, Statoil ASA and Statoil Canada, Syncrude Canada, Agilent, Trojan Technologies, Quadrise Canada, Kemira Water Solutions, Wave Control Systems Ltd., etc. His research projects have resulted in over 75 peer reviewed journal articles, one book, four IPs, and over 200 conference presentations. He is the director of the Oil Sands and Coal Interfacial Engineering Facility, an $8 million facility for advanced characterization of industrial water, providing high levels of technical and analytical service to the energy sector industries of Alberta. He has consulted the Alberta Government on water management issues related to industrial and agricultural water use policies.
